Post-Operative Instructions

***If you have extreme pain or swelling, please contact our office as soon as possible.  

Root Canal Treatment or ReTreatment

• Soreness is normal for the first few days

• Take Ibuprofen and/or Tylenol as directed for post-operative discomfort

• Stick to a soft diet for the first few days after treatment

• Brush and Floss like normal unless instructed otherwise

• Take any additional medications as directed

Root Surgery

• Follow instructions listed above

• Avoid lifting your lip to look at the stitches, as this can disturb the healing process

• Do NOT floss the area of surgery

• Use the antibacterial mouth rinse as directed

• Take all medications as directed

• Avoid hot or spicy foods until the stitches are removed
